Leandri Erlank is a South African artist whose practice explores the nuanced intersections of beauty and darkness, drawing from personal experiences and quiet observations of the world around her. She graduated with distinction from the University of Stellenbosch in 2014, earning a BA in Fine Arts with a specialization in sculpture under the guidance of Ledelle Moe
.
After her studies, Erlank worked with prominent artists Louis Janse van Vuuren (2016) and Lionel Smit (2017), experiences that informed and deepened her evolving voice. She has since established herself as a full-time artist, exhibiting in numerous group shows at galleries including Grande Provence, Rust-en-Vrede, and RK Contemporary.

Rooted in the concept of mono no aware—the beauty of things tinged with sadness—Erlank’s work often blurs the line between tenderness and tension. Whether depicting human or animal forms, her pieces invite varied emotional interpretations, reflecting the viewer's own inner world. With a strong commitment to honesty, she continues to experiment and evolve, using her art to navigate and express the complexities of connection and existence.
