My work depicts scenes of life- my personal experiences and the way I perceive the lives of other people and/or animals. The thin line between beauty and darkness often, as in life, becomes very blurry in my work. Whether the viewer perceives my work as aggressive or peaceful greatly depends on their own nature and experiences.

I find that I see both the beauty and the dark side of things. Not as separate entities, but mixed together as one experience. I find that I will be ecstatic about something while, at the same time, be suspicious of that ecstasy. The Japanese have a phrase for this: mono no aware, which means “beauty tinged with sadness”.

As an artist, I am constantly exploring new ways to depict that which I believe in and connect with in the most honest way possible.
